Frequently Asked Questions

  • This depends on the application done. Normally there are only precautions if a pesticide is applied such as weed control. Sometimes the precaution is stay off 4-6 hours until dry or for some its water in once applied and let dry. This will always be communicated on the statement provided at time of application. Organic options are available.

  • Firstly you should expect communication. Also depending on the service signed up for, it is standard to send an email out the day before. Transparent worry free service is the goal. More information can be found here on the Expectations page.

  • No. Disease and other issues may arise. Lawn programs have optional grub prevention and fungicide treatments that may be included on a lawn by lawn bases. It is preferred not to used them by default since it could cause a resistance to the product. At times these may be recommended or perhaps you have seen issues the previous year you would like to prevent. Please communicate if you would like to devote more resources to prevention.

  • This depends on what was applied. Normally the statement left at the time of treatment should give any details such as “allow to dry”, though this may not always be the case. Granular products such as fertilizer are ok for immediate watering however liquid weed control requires time to dry. In attempt to prevent issues always try to check the statement or contact Noble Control just in case.

  • This depends on what was applied and how long before the rain. Normally the statement should give any details such as ‘rain ok’, though this may not always be the case. Granular products such as fertilizer are ok for immediate rain however liquid weed control requires time to dry. In attempt to prevent issues, the treatments are planned according to weather.

  • Each time an application is done an email or text will go out the day before and a statement is left at the property the day of. Also when a pesticide is used there will be a flag on the property as well. More information on what to expect can be found here.

  • Short answer is no. Even the OMRI certified organic products have precautions at the time of application for eye and skin contact, inhalation, ingestion, etc. Some products may be safer than others but it always comes down to following the directions on the label.

  • They can be depending on which services and products used. Also more importantly how they are used. Organic and even OMRI certified organic products are available as well as approaches taken to prevent harm to non target animals. The traditional lawn program for instance may be customized to only use herbicide early spring and late fall in order to avoid peak activity time for most animals. Please feel free to communicate any concerns.

  • Part of the lawn program is leaving notes for you and communicating anything noticed. In between applications however, things may arise and are welcomed to be communicated to me. This is preferred as prevention is key.

  • What time of year? Temperature? Recent rainfall? Mowing results?

Browning does not always mean the lawn is ‘burnt’ or needs more water. Early in the spring snow mold may be seen, later in the summer heat stress and blight. Many things can brown or stress a lawn and identifying can sometimes be a puzzle. The factors above are a good start in figuring it out.

  • Lawns are affected by fungus and insects. Damage from each of these will be reduced by good turf and soil health however that may not always be enough. The standard is to apply Grub Preventative in spring and Fungicide just before weather conditions are favorable for target disease. Organic options are being explored more everyday and may be an option as well depending on the case. These optional treatments may be added to your program.

  • No. Depending on the fungus type it can last overwinter in the soil and continue to cause damage. First step should be identifying before taking action. Some fungal diseases may call for multiple treatments while others do in fact go away on their own. More information can be found here.

  • Most lawn programs use pre emergent herbicides and liquid weed controls that will prevent grass seed from growing. Please communicate if you plan to seed, or would like seeding done, so your program may be adjusted accordingly. Noble Control will gladly substitute a Seed Starter Fertilizer application into your program for no additional cost.
